Erica R. Knox, Esq., LL.M. is our Senior Attorney, and lead benefits practice attorney, for Burri Law, PA. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Knox worked as an Employee Benefits Law Specialist in the Office of Exemption Determinations for the U.S. Department of Labor’s Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA) in Washington, D.C. Her responsibilities included the evaluation, development, and closure of requests for individual exemptions from the prohibited transaction provisions under Title I of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA). She was also a presenter for EBSA's Fiduciary Education Campaign in Denver, Colorado and Cincinnati, Ohio. Before her time at the U.S. Department of Labor, Ms. Knox worked as a Law Clerk at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, in the Office of General Counsel, focused on support of the pension plan administration for the Office of D.C. Pensions.
Ms. Knox received her J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law, and her LL.M. in Taxation, with a Certificate in Employee Benefits, from Georgetown University Law Center. She is a member of the New York State Bar.
From the Archdiocese of Miami, Monsignor Anderson is on staff at St. Thomas University School of Law where he is Associate Director for Student Affairs, Chaplain, Adjunct Professor of Law, and Director of the Summer-in-Spain Program. Monsignor Anderson joins us with a
Ordained in 1974, Msgr. Anderson has served as Judicial Vicar, Metropolitan Tribunal, for the Archdiocese of Miami from 1982-1990 and from 1994 to 2014. He also serves as associate director for student affairs, chaplain, and adjunct professor of law at St. Thomas University School of Law. Msgr. Anderson has an extensive teaching background, serving as an instructor for St. Leo's College, Father Ryan High School, and the Permanent Deacon Program of the Archdiocese of Miami, as well as a visiting professor at Barry University and Marymount College. He has also served as president of the Eastern Region Canon Law Society, chaplain of the Catholic Lawyers' Guild, Miami, and canonical consultant to the Priest Retirement Plan. As an adjunct faculty member at St. Thomas University School of Law, Msgr. Anderson has taught, among others, Comparative Law, Church-State Relations, and Canon Law.
